MRS. ELTA WATSON Mrs. Elta Watson, 56, wife of George Watson, died in a Dexter hospital Friday after a long illness. Funeral services were held Monday at the Free Baptist Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Donald E. Macomber officiating. Susie Carr Chapter, OES, attended in a body, as did North Dexter Grange. Burial was in Jackman Corner cemetery. The bearers were Weldon Conner, Abner Starbird, Ralph Patterson, Alex Carter, Lyle Knowlton, and Fred Crain. Born in Eastport, Feb. 13, 1897, the daughter of Lorenzo I. and Delia A. Conley, Mrs. Watson's girlhood was spent in that town. She was married to George Watson in 1921. Mrs. Watson was a past matron of Susie Carr Chapter, OES, Sangerville, North Dexter Grange, N. Dexter Sewing Club. She was also a member of the State and National Granges. She is survived by her husband; by one son, Norman F. Watson of Dow Air Force Base; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Palm of Portland, Ore; one granddaughter; four brothers, Chesley Conley of Dexter, W. Grant Conley of Farmington, Harvey L. of Seeley Lake Mont., and Stuart of Sangerville. There are several nieces and nephews.
