Mrs. L. P. Anthony Mrs. Lucinda Preble Anthony pass- ed away in the Massachusetts Me- morial hospital Friday, April 22, at the age of 90 years , Mrs. Anthony had been in the hospital several weeks. A part of Mrs. Anthony's girlhood was passed in town, before her parr- ent moved to Bangor. She is the last of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Winn Preble. A brother, Hiram J. Preble of Bangor 00-00passed away about a year ago. Funeral services were held in Mrs. Anthony has a beautiful sum- mer home here, as also a home in Orange City, Florida. She will be greatly missed here during the sum- mer months, as her beautiful flowers and well kept estate was greatly en- oyed as well as her own welcome smile when you went to call. On her last birthday, a party met and gave her a "suprise" which she greatly en- joyed. Mrs. Anthony was a member of the Baptist church to which she contri- buted generously and to which she faithfully attended when in town. At the services on Sunday, Apr. 24, Rev. E. W. Lester asked for a moment of silence to pay tribute to the departed sister, after which he offered prayer. She leaves several nieces to mourn their loss, among whom are Mrs. Edith Stewart and Mrs. Lillian Pack- ard of this town. Her husband, Lewis W. Anthony passed away many years ago. Funeral services were held in Boston. Internment will be in Bangor.
