Obituary	WALLACE F. BUGBEE DEXTER - Wallace F. Bugbee, 82, died January 26, 2005 at a Dexter health care facility. He was born December 2, 1922, in Dexter, the son of Shirley and Mabelle (Jewett) Bugbee. He served as a medical technician on a hospital. ship in the Pacific during WWII. After the war, he earned a BS in chemistry from the University of Maine in Orono. He also did graduate work at Kansas State University in Lawrence, Kansas. After leaving Kansas, he worked at a research facility in California. He later returned to the east coast and worked for several years for National Research Corp. in Boston, where he earned several patents. In the late 1950's he returned to Maine to work on the family dairy farm, which he later managed until his retirement in 1986. Following retirement he became a serious biker and joined several tours with Bike America. He hiked the length and breadth of the United States several times and did one tour in China. He was a member of both the local and national bicycle clubs. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hiking, and cross country skiing, as well as biking. He is survived by 2 sisters, Vella Price of Dexter and Mary and her husband, William Linz of Bangor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, and a brother, Milton Bugbee.
