Obituary
Andrew F. Flynn A solemn requiem mass was con- ducted at St. Anne's Catholic Church Monday morning for Andrew Francis Flynn, 72 who died suddenly early Sat- urday morning at his Grove street home. Participating in the mass were the Rev. C. J. Enright, celebrant, assisted by Rev. R. Martineau and and Rev. Lynch of Pittsfield. The Knights of Columbus local chapter, of which the deceased was one of the oldest members, a tended in a body and served as guard of honor. Sunday afternoon the chapter, led by Rev. Euright, conducted prayers at the home. Bearers were: Arthur Am- brose, Thomas Ambrose, Edgar Higgins, Thomas Johnson, Timothy Stinson, all of Dexter; Joeph Kennedy of Lowell, Mass. Inter- ment will be in Mt. Pleasant ceme- tery, Dexter. Mr. Flynn was born in Lanca- shire, England, Dec.1, 1877, the son of John and Anne Flynn; and came to the United States at the age of 15. Coming to Dexter 47 years ago, he was employed as overseer in the card room at the local woolen mills until 20 years ago, when; he opened his store and filling station on Grove street. From this location on Lake Wassookeag, he also conducted a boat rental busi- ness which made many friends for him throughout this state and oth- ers. He was a member of Cardinal Mercier Chapter, Knights of Co- lumbus. Surviving are his wife Georgi- anna (Higgins) Flynn, and a dau- ghter, Mary A. Flynn, both of Dex- ter; and a brother, Patrick J. Flynn of Pittsfield, Mass. Among relatives here for the ser- vices were Sister Mary Anita and Sister Mary Rosalie, both of Lewis- ton; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kennedy of Lowell, Mass. Mr. Flynn's only brothers Patrick J. Flynn, was un- able to attend due ;to illness.
