Obituary	ARTHUR N. BAILEY, SR. CORINNA - Arthur Napolean Bailey, Sr. 80, died October 17, 2003 at a Dover- Foxcroft hospital. He was born January 8, 1923 at Franklin, New Hampshire a son of Felix and Marguerite (Ambrose) Bailey. He served in the U. S. Army in the European theatre during World War II. A Prisoner of War for 6 months, Arthur served in the 101st Airborne Division, 326 Airborne Medical Company in Holland , Belgium and Germany and participated in the Battle of The Bulge. He was discharged in 1946. On May 27, 1950, he married the former Anna Downing. He was employed at Guilford Industries in Guilford, Dumbarton Woolen Mill, Amos Abbott Woolen Mill, and the Dexter Shoe Company, all of Dexter, and Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. He belonged to the Poulliot-Seavey Post 53 American Legion, the Shirley B. Carter Post 4298 Veterans of Foreign War, The Prisoner of War Association, and Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna of Corinna; 4 children, Arthur, Jr. of St. Albans, Charlie and wife Janet of Dexter, Ann Gustin of Hartland, Kevin and wife Lynn of Corinna; a sister-in-law Winnifred (Farnham) Bailey, 8 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a step- grand-daughter, Brooke Snide; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son David, brother, Lionel and a sister, Charlotte Bailey. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Tuesday at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services were held October 22, with the Rev. Edward Jaworski officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
