Obituary	MARTHA M. DOWNING DEXTER-Mrs. Martha (Marsh) Downing 82, widow of Herbert Downing: died Wednesday morn- ing at a Bangor hospital follow- ing a long period of failing health. She was born at Levant No- vember 1, 1879. She attended schools in Levant and attended Farmington State Normal School. She taught school at Presque Isle, Garland and Kingsbury. December 20, 1905, she was married at Orono to Her- bert Downing. She was a life member of Was- sookeag Chapter, Eastern Star of Dexter, of which she was a past I matron. She was also a member of the Star Club and the Sun. shine Club and attended the Meth- odist Church. She is survived by a son, Her- bert James Downing of Dexter; two sisters, Mrs. Clay Fruit of Tonasket, Wash., and Mrs. T. E. Brittain of Grand Coulee, Wash. Funeral service will be at 2 p. p. Friday at Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, the Rev. Gordon, Parlin of the Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
