ANTOINETTE (DERAPS) BUCKLEY OSGOOD DEXTER & LARGO, FL – Antoinette Osgood, 75, wife of the late Bail W. Osgood, died November 20, 2005 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born April 9, 1930 in Pittsfield a daughter of J.E.A. and Eva (Swift) DeRaps. She graduated from Maine Central Institute in 1949, Farmington State Teacher’s College in 1953 with a B.S. Degree in Home Economics, and the University of Maine Orono in 1960 with a Masters Degree in Education. She taught at Manson Park School and Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Hartland Academy, Ellsworth High School, and at Dexter Regional High School until her retirement in 1984 after thirty happy, dedicated years of teaching. Over the years she was very active in many educational organizations and related groups. In 1981 Antoinette was named Maine Home Economics Association Teacher of the Year for developing a creative and innovative health and home economics curriculum. She led many workshops and supervised one or two student teachers from the University of Maine Farmington and the University of Maine Orono each year from 1955 until 1984. She remained active in education during her retirement in Largo, Florida where she volunteered for many years at the elementary schools. In addition to her husband Basil, Toni was also predeceased by a brother Clarence. She is survived by a son, Michael Buckley of Harmony; 2 brothers, Perley Ettinger of Pittsfield, and Roy DeRaps and wife April of Palmyra; 2 sisters, Mary Tuttle and husband Arnold of Clinton, and Doreen DeRaps of Pittsfield; 2 grandchildren, Lauren and Meghan; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service 10 AM Friday, December 2nd, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Private interment will be in the Corinna Village Cemetery.
