ALBERT M. BAILEY DEXTER, July 24 - Albert M. Bailey, 82, died Thursday noon at a Dexter hospital after a short illness. He was born at Cambridge, Me., Nov. 9, 1875, son of Gustavus E. and Ellen A. (Wing) Bailey. He had spent the greater part of his life at Cambridge. During his early life he owned and operated a farm, later enter- ing a lumbering business and sawmill, in partnership with An- drew Gilman, under the name, Gilman and Bailey at Cambridge. In 1923 Bailey and his son, Lawrence A. Bailey, established a grocery store and grain mill at Harmony which they operated until 1951. They purchased the B and H Transportation Company in 1987 which they operated be- tween Bangor and Boston until 1942. In 1938 they purchased the gar- age and automobile business of the Blaisdell Motor Company at Dexter and have since operated it under the name of Bailey Mo- tors, Incorporated. Bailey is survived by his widow, Edna (Ham) Bailey; a son, Law- rence A., both of Dexter; two daughters, Mrs. Luetta H. Batey of Dexter and Mrs. Raymond L Downs of Bangor; a sister, Mrs. Marcia L. Ham of Dexter; seven grandchildren, 16 great grand- children; and several nieces and nephews. The remains are at the Crosby Funeral Home, Dexter, where friends may call until the time of the service. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Cambridge Baptist Church with the Rev Harold Deinstadt, pastor of t he Cambridge, Church and the Rev. Walter B. Wakeman of the Flrst Baptist Church in Dexter , officiating. The interment will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.
