Obituary	O. WALLACE SWANTON Funeral services for O. Wallace Swanton, 76, who died Friday afternoon at his home on Spring street after a short illness, were held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church. The Rev. Hartwell Daley, pastor, officiated. Bearers were brother Masons and interment was in Mt. Pleasant cemetery. He was born in Dexter, Feb. 19, 1877, son of the late Seth J. and Drusilla (Coakley) Swanton. In early life Mr. Swanton learned the printer's trade at The Eastern Gazette. Later, he became a toolmaker at the Fay & Scott machine shop and remained in their employ for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Dexter Grange. His first wife was the late Mattie B. Dow. Later he married Ruth Brown, who survives. Other survivors besides his wife, Ruth, are a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mayfair Gillingham of Jacksonville, Fla., and two step-grandsons; two brothers, Eugene Swanton of Dexter and Forest Swanton, Eliot; a sister, Mrs. Arthur Jackson of Dexter, several nieces and nephews.
