Obituary
Henry W. Hayden. Henry W. Hayden passed peacefully away Friday noon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lindley Folsom, on lower Main street, where he has made his home for the past nine years. He had been in falling health for some months and about a week before the end he suffered a slight shock, the effect of which caused his death. He was at the time of his death 89 years, four months and three days old, being born in Corinna in 1820. He was the son of Enoch and Release (Adams) Hayden and was one of a family of 11 children, of which only two survive him. Mr. Hayden was twice married, his first wife being Emeline Bowley. By her he had one son, Charles H., and a daughter, Henrietta, who died at the age of 19 years. His second wife was Cynthia Bigelow and the children of the second marriage were Wilson W., Averill L, and Ida, wife of Lindley H. Folsom. After the death of his wife, which occurred about nine years ago, he came to Dexter and has been cared for in his declining years by his daughter, Mrs. Folsom. In early life he bought a farm at Morse's Corner in Corinna, upon which he lived for about sixty years. He embraced the Christian faith at an early age, uniting with the Free Baptist church of Corinna and his life has been a living example of how it should be lived, winning the respect of all who knew him. He is survived by three sons, Chas. H., of this town, Rev. Wilson W. of Gardiner and Averill L. of Corinna, and one daughter, Mrs. L. H. Folsom, of this town. A brother, Amaziah, living in California, and a sister, Mrs. Mary A. Lufkin, of Veazie, also survive. The funeral services were held at his late home and were conducted by Rev. J. A. Wiggin of the Free Baptist church. The burial was at the Morse's Corner cemetery in Corinna.
