Obituary
Louis J. Page Orland, Glenn County, Calif., Nov. 29, 1910. EDITOR EASTFRN GAZETTE, Dexter, Maine, Dear Sir: I beg to inform you and the people of Dexter, through the columns of your paper, of the death, on Nov. 25, 1910, of my father, Louis J. Page, late of Orland, Calif., after an illness of three months, though he had been in failing health for six months with arteriosclerosis, accompanied by very little suffering. My father was born in Dexter, Maine, June 5, 1846, the son of Jason F. and Matilda (Bickell) Page, where he lived until nineteen years ago. On Dec. 19, 1811, he married Miss Rosabel Weymouth, and from this union six children were born, two of whom died in infancy. He is survived by his widow, one daughter, Mrs. John B. McCoy, of Spokane, Washington, Dr. Harry M. of Portland, Oregon, Millard L. of San Francisco, H. Roy of Orland, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. Charles E. Safford, Waterville, Maine, all of whom, with the exception of his sister, were at the bedside during his last three weeks. Though so many years away from Dexter, father followed with great interest the incidents there, and counted many people his friends. For several years he had desired farm-life, and six months ago father, mother and Roy moved from Spokane, Wash. Calif., to Orland, Calif., where be bought ten acres in the New Government Irrigation Project in the Upper Sacramento Valley. He was a member of the Universalist church, the Odd Fellow's the Masons, the D. or R. and the New England Order of Protection, all of Guilford, Maine. The funeral occurred Sunday, Nov. 27, from his late residence. Interment in the Masonic cemetery of Orland, Calif. Yours respectfully, HARRY M. PAGE.
