HELEN S. WILKINS DEXTER, Helen S. Wilkins, 93, died June 22, 2006, at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft. She was born April 16, 1913, in Dexter, daughter of Harold and Frances (Moran) Small. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School, attended Westbrook Seminary and Gray Business College. She was part of the fifth generation to operate the Grist Mill in Dexter. Helen was a member of the DAR, the Society of Mayflower Descendants, and helped found the Dexter Historical Society Museum. She served as the Town Clerk for Dexter and later for Garland. She was the organist for the Dexter Universalist Church and for the Episcopal Church of the Messiah. She was a noted artist in the area and made her own clothes and quilts, and was a member of the Mainely Doll’s Club. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Penny Wilkins of Dexter; 2 grandsons, Joseph Wilkins and his wife Christine and their children, Meghan and Shelby, all of Altus Air Force Base, Altus, Oklahoma, and Harold “Rick” Wilkins Jr. and his children, Cody and Makayla, all of Dexter. She was predeceased by her husband, Clair G. Wilkins; a son, Hal Wilkins, and a sister, Evelyn Korbly. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday June 26, 2006 at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter with the Rev. Kevin Holsapple officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may make donations to the Dexter Historical Society, P.O.
