BLANCHE IDA DAIGLE DEXTER, Blanche Ida Daigle, 82, wife of the late Ernest J. Daigle, died January 4, 2006, at a Damariscotta nursing home. She was born in Connor, Maine, February 11, 1923, daughter of Andrew and Elise (Desjardin) Violette. She was a graduate of Sterns High School, Aroostook State Normal School, and the University of Maine in Orono. She taught school for nearly 30 years in the towns of Oxford, Guilford, and Dexter. She was a communicant of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter, a Seniority member, charter member of the American Association of University Women, former member of the Dexter Women’s Literary Club, Mayo Hospital Auxiliary, Mayo Hospital Volunteer, Piscataquis Retired Teachers Association, Maine Teachers Association, National Teacher’s Association, AARP, and the Alumni Associations of UMPI, UMO, and Sterns High School. She is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Anderson and her husband, Mark of Hollis Center, and their son Eric Anderson of Limerick, Rita Grindal and her husband, Rick, and their daughter, Rachel Grindal, and her son, Gavin Grindal, all of New Castle, and Linda Daigle of Dexter; a sister, Bertha Seilhan of Hallowell; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; 2 brothers, Leo and Patrick; and 2 sisters, Yvonne Houghton and Corinne Walsh. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM, Monday, January 9, 2006, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., in Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Dexter with the Rev. Fr. James Robichaud officiating. Spring burial will be in the Mt.
