Obituary	The many friends of Mrs. E. T. Haskell of Bangor were deeply grieved to hear of her death which occurred at her home last Monday. Mrs. Haskell was a native of Dexter, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lary, and had always resided here until her marriage. She had been in poor health for some time. She leaves a husband, son and daughter, beside her parents, two brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Free Baptist church here and a lady much respected by all. The funeral was held in the Free Baptist church here on Wednesday, Rev. Allen Bradeen of Gardiner officiating. The Eastern Gazette 9-11-1902, p.5 The solicitude of the relatives and many friends of Mrs. Myrtie A. Haskell of Bangor was ended by her death on Monday, Sept. 9. Her age was 31 years, 5 months and 12 days. She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Lary of Dexter; the father, mother, two brothers and two sisters survive her. Mrs. Haskell had been in failing health for several weeks and much anxiety was felt for her but for a week she had seemed so much improved strong hopes were entertained that she would recover, but hopes were vain, and after hours of most intense suffering, which loving care and medical skill could not relieve she passed quietly away. She was the beloved wife of Edgar T. Haskell of Bangor; two bright, interesting children are left motherless and a large circle of relatives and friends mourn the loss of one whom to know was to love. Her disposition was a happy, joyous one and she scattered sunshine wherever she went. There were many sad, tearful faces as schoolmates, neighbors, friends and members of the little church to which she belonged came bringing beautiful flowers as mute expression of their love for her until the plain little church became a bower of beauty. Such artistic designs were seldom seen, beautiful half-open buds of roses, a dainty pink and others of creamy white, told the years of her happy life. A beautiful harp with broken string attracted much attention as well as other loving offerings from husband, parents, brothers and sisters, and friends too numerous to mention. She lay amid the flowers as one who weary of pain had laid down on her couch to rest, sweet and pure as the flowers, and just as unmindful of the tears and sorrow around her. The present pastor of the Free Baptist church, Rev. H. J. Piper, offered prayer and read selections of scripture and Rev . A. W. Bradeen, a former pastor much beloved and who had baptized and received her into the church, (by her request,) spoke words of loving remembrance of her earnest Christian life and the hope of the glad meeting bye and bye. His text was: "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord." The singers were HarryHale, Will Robinson, Susie Eldridge and Clara Hayden; organist, Ola Bailey. The interment was in Mt.
