Obituary	Death of Dr. Harry Crossland The sad news was received here Tuesday evening of the sudden death of Dr. Harry Crossland, in a Worcester hospital as the result of an operation for appendicitis. The news caused a great shock to his many friends here his wife and other members of their family, who have the sympathy of the entire community. Dr. Crossland was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Crossland, formerly residents of Dexter but now of Millbury, Mass., and was twenty-seven years of age. During the past month he has been visiting his parents in Millbury, Mass., taking a much needed rest from his professional duties here. A week or so ago he was in Dexter for a day and was apparently much improved in health. He was a graduate of Dexter High school, graduating in the class of 1899 with honors. After completing his High school course here he entered upon the study of medicine at the Maryland Medical college at Baltimore, Md , where he graduated with high honors and was at once admitted to the practice of medicine. For a time after his graduation he was connected with an institution in Rhode Island and afterwards was an assistant surgeon at the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers at Togus. About two years ago he resigned his position there and opened an office here. Since coming here he has built up a large and successful practice by his abilities and close and faithful attention to his duties. Soon after coming to Dexter he was united in marriage with Miss Clara Hayden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Hayden. Besides leaving a wife, Dr. Crossland is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Crossland, and a sister, Miss Belle Crossland of Millbury and a brother, William D. Crossland, of Bangor. Dr. Crossland was a member of Bedivere lodge of this place. The remains were brought to Dexter, where private funeral services will be held this afternoon from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Hayden on lower Main street, Rev. S. G. Spear will officiate.
