Obituary
Mrs. Lillian Lary Oliver. The many friends in this town of Mrs. Lillian Lary, wife of A. M. Oliver, of Laconia, N. H., were shocked and deeply grieved to learn of her sudden death, which occurred in Laconia, Thursday, May 23. Mrs. Oliver had been called to Pittsfield a few weeks ago by the serious illness of her mother, Mrs. Elmira Lary. She staid there until her mother was considered out of danger, returning to her home just a week previous to her death. Mrs. Oliver was the daughter of Mrs. Elmira, and the late John Lary, for many years a respected citizen of this town, and her girlhood days were all spent here. She gratuated from Dexter High school in the class of '84, and a few years later married Mr. Oliver and moved to Hyde Park, Mass. Later they lived in Worcester for a number of years, and for the past few years in Laconia. She is survived by her husband A.M. Oliver; a mother, Mrs. Elmira Lary, of Pittsfield; two brothers, J. Frank Lary of Worcester, Mass., and Prof. Stanley Lary of Cohasset, Mass.; a sister, Mrs. J. S. Haseltine of Pittsfield, and a little niece, Edwina Haskell, who has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Oliver since the death of her mother, Mrs. Mertle Haskell; besides a wide circle of friends and acquaintances. Mrs. Oliver's death seems especially sad, coming at this time when her mother is in such a feeble condition that her death is not unlooked for at any time, and much sympathy is expressed on every side for the bereaved family. Services were held in Laconia, after which the remains were brought to Dexter and funeral services were conducted in the Free Baptist church Monday, at 10 a. in., by Rev. 0. H. Tracey of Pittsfield, assisted by Rev. J. A. Wiggin, pastor of the local church. Mr. Tracey spoke most feelingly of the many beautiful, Christian qualities of the deceased. Musical selections were rendered by a quartet, composed of Mrs. Edith Brewster, Mrs. S. L. Small, Mr. A. L. Davis, Mr. J. W. Crosby. Many beautiful flowers testified to the high regard in which Mrs. Oliver was everywhere held. The interment was in the family lot in Mount Pleasant cemetery.
