Obituary
The following item was clipped from the Lowell (Mass.) mail of Nov. 11, 1895: The funeral service of Amos Storer, the oldest resident at Lowell, an account of whose remarkable career has appeared in these columns, was held in the Highland Methodist church, Saturday afternoon. The services were impressive, and noticeable from the large number of descendants of Mr. Storer who gathered to perform the last honors to his memory. The address of Rev. Dr. James Mudge was eloquent and full of feeling. The music was by a choir composed of Mr. Storer's grandchildren and great grandchildren, a solo y Eugene Hamilton Storer, a grandchild, being particularly beautiful. The descendants present were three sons, Charles P. Storer, hospital steward of the 15th Maine, now of Derry, N. H. Newman W. Storer, captain of the 7th Massachusetts battery, Amos R. Storer, of the lst and 4th Massachusetts cavalry, both of Boston; seven grandchildren, Roscoe Radcliffe Storer, Robert Hopkins Storer, Eugene Hamilton Storer, Harvey Winthrop March Storer, Sidney Amos Storer, Francis Everett Storer and R. E. Newell, M. D.; five great grandchildren, Charles E. Newell, Harry W. Newell, Arthur Henry Newell, Fred Cutler Storer and Flora Ella Blake. After the ceremony the remains were carried to Dexter, Me., and laid beside those of his wife.
