Obituary
Died in Dexter, Sunday March 9th., Miss Nellie Trask, aged 23 years. Miss Trask was well known in this village having spent her girlhood here, graduating from the High School in the class of '86. After graduation she taught in Dexter schools till sickness compelled a change and rest. She went West, visiting her sister Mrs. W. P. Curtis, in Minneapolis, hoping this change would restore her to health. In this her friends were disappointed; and in May last she returned to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Wheeler, where, surrounded by all that home love, neighborly kindness and the attention of her village friends could do, she gradually failed, till consumption finished its work and rest and sleep came to her wearied frame. She was a most exemplary young lady: a loving daughter and sister, true friend, conscientious scholar and teacher, winning and holding the respect and love of all. Though life was dear, when she knew that God was calling her she bowed submissively to his will, having great hope of a better life beyond; and while to the family and friends her death is a great loss they are comforted with the assurance that to her it was infinite gain. There was brief services of prayer at the home by her pastor, Rev. S. C. Fletcher, who also conducted services at the church assisted by Rev. J. R. Clifford, of the Methodist Church. A large number gathered at the funeral, and the beautiful floral offerings by the members of the class of '86, and the Sunday School of which she was a member, and other friends showed how tenderly she was loved by those with whom she had been most intimately associated.
