Obituary	John L. Russell John L. Russell, an old and well known citizen of this village, died at his home after a long illness Tuesday evening of this week. Mr. Russell was born in Ripley in 1836 and learned the printer's trade. He enlisted in the 15th Maine Vols. Nov. 7, 1861, as a private and served honorably for 4 years and 8 months, being discharged a sergeant July 5th, 1866. Returning to Dexter he went to work at his trade of printer and for many years held a position in the GAZETTE Office, retiring in 1894. He was a good citizen and an honored member of H. F. Safford Post, G. A. R., and of Dexter Grange, where he was secretary for about 20 years. He leaves three children, Walter, Willie and Flora. The funeral will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the house, Rev. W. H. Gould officiating. The G. A. R. Post and Grange will attend in a body.
