Obituary
Death of B. C. Thompson. To all those who have been familiar with Dexter for the last forty years, B. C. Thompson, the blacksmith, has been a familiar figure. The news of his sudden death last evening came like a shock to every one. He appeared as well as usual during the day, and sat at the table at supper when he was prostrated by a shock of paralysis, and lingered but a short time. His age was a few months over 64 years. He was born in the Provinces, but came to Ripley when a young man, and thence came to Dexter to live sometime about 1850. He set up in business here as a blacksmith, a trade at which he was a skilful workman. He was a quiet man but prudent, and with excellent business judgment, and accumulated quite a property. He leaves a wife and two children, Harry S., and Miss Anna Thompson. The funeral will occur at the house tomorrow (Friday) at two o'clock.
