Newport Machine Shop Foreman Dies NEWPORT, Aug. 20 Walter El- den Hatch, 42, machine shop fore- man of the D.E. Cumniings mill here, was found dead at the mill this morning. Dr. Lewis Tay- lor, county medical examiner, was called and said death was due to natural causes. The son of Harry and Delva (Safford) Hatch, Mr. Hatch was born in Dexter and lived in Cor- inna, where he was a blacksmith. Before moving to Newport 13 years ago, he was for two years a mas- ter mechanic at the Cummings Skowhegan mill. Surviving besides his parents in Corinna are two daughters, Joyce L. of Corinna and Darlene of Guilford; a son, Walter E., Jr., of Corinna; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Colicutt of Bangor, Mrs. Mary Nutter of Newport, and Mrs. Laura Parker of Parkman; four brothers, France of Corinna, Hiram of Newport, Alton of Corinna, and Ray of Columbus, N. J,; several aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Corinna Methodist church. Fiends may call at the Farnham funeral home in Newport until Saturday noon and from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning at the residence of Mrs. Bertha Bean in Corinna.
