HAROLD C. MOUNTAIN DEXTER, June 9-Harold C. Mountain, 51, one of Dexter's prominent and highly respected citizens, passed away suddenly at his home on Free street late Satur- day, afternoon, from a heart attack. Mr. Mountain was one of the leading woolen manufacturers in Maine, and at the time of his death was vice president, treasurer, and general manager of the Dumbarton Woolen Company of Dexter, and had been associated with that mill for the past twelve years, and had for several years been manager of the George Park Manufacturing Company, also of Dexter. He began his career in the woolen business at an early age in East Lyme, Conn., then going to Stafford Springs, Conn., for a time, coming from there to Dexter where he was associated with his uncle, George Park of Wellesley Hills, a resident of Dex- ter at that time. He spent a few years in Dexter, then went to Sangerville, where he remained a few years before coming to Dexter, where he had since resided. Mr. Mountain was born in Ames- bury, Mass., the son of William T. Mountain and the late Eunice Park Mountain, receiving his early educa- tion in Massachusetts. He was a past master of the Abner Wade lodge, F. & A. M., at Sangerville, and the Royal Arch chapter at Dover-Foxcroft, Susie Carr chapter, 0. E. S., Sangerville. He was a director of the Guilford Trust Company, a member of the Piscataquis valley Country club, Guilford, a member of the board of, selectmen at Dexter; member of the Dexter club, and a member of the Dexter Chamber of Commerce, the Men's Community club. He was vice president of the Tam O'Shanter club, composed of leading, wool men of the east. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel A. Mountain, a son, William H. Mountain, two daughters, Mrs. Robert W. Buxton and Mrs. Charles Dyer, two grandchildren, a niece and nephew, all of Dexter; his father, William T. Mountain, of Amesbury, Mass.; two brothers, Ronald of Pontiac, Mich., and Angus P. of Dexter. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the First Universalist church in Dexter, Rev. K. R. Hutchinson of- ficiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Sangerville, where Masonic Committal services will be held.
