MURIEL B. HALEY DEXTER - Muriel B. Haley, 84, died Dec. 11, 2005, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Ripley, daughter of Maurice and Bertha (Wiggin) Briggs. She worked in the Blaine House in Augusta from 1941 to 1946. Later she was a supervisor of the M.S.A.D. No. 46 school lunch program from 1964 to 1991. She married Kenneth F. Davis in 1942, who was killed in the Battle of the Bulge in 1944. She married H. Graham Haley in 1946. She was a member of the Sunshine Club, Dexter Public Health Assn., Meals for ME, Golden Age Club. She made many pairs of mittens over the years for the local children. She is survived by three sons, Alan Haley and his wife, Susan, of Skowhegan, Joel Haley and his wife, Ann, of Dedham, Eric Haley and his wife, Stephanie, of Waterville; a daughter, Katherine and her husband, Curt Lombard, of St. Albans; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law and good friend, Dorothy Briggs of Dexter; long time dear friend, Vella Price of Dexter; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, H. Graham Haley in 1990; and by her two brothers, Robert and John Briggs. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main St. in Dexter. Spring burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
