Obituary	John R. Patterson John R. Patterson, one of our oldest and best known citizens, died at the home on Free street last Tuesday aged 79 years, 11 months and 17 days. Mr. Patterson was born in Alloa, Scotland but had lived here for a long time and was most highly respected by all. He had been gradually failing in health for some time and his death was not unexpected. He leaves two sons, John and Robert, and a daughter, Mrs. Walter Scott, with whom he lived. He also has a half brother in Hartland who came here Wednesday. It is expected his sons will come to the funeral which will be held next Saturday at 2 o'clock if they arrive in time. Rev. W. H. Gould of Portland is expected to officiate.
