CHRITOPHER C. HAYDEN GARLAND - Christopher C. Hay- den, 78, died Jan. 11, 1991 at a Do- ver-Foxtroft hospital. He was born at Exeter, Jan. 24, 1912, the son of Wil- iam Edward and Minnie M. (Hoyt) Hayden. Chris, also known as "Clum," grew up in the Stetson/Exeter area. He attended Stetson schools and later graduated from Maryland Textile, Academy. He married Winifred Ga- spar in 1931, and worked the family farm on the Avenue Road in Exeter until the buildings burned in 1940. He moved his family to Garland to a farm on Oliver Hill. He went to work for Amos Abbot Wooien Mill in Dexter where he worked for a number of years. He also worked for Matson Mills in Connecticut and Vermont, re- turning to Garland to care for aging parents, and worked again for Amos Abbot Woolen until his retirement. He was predeceased by his second wife, Velma I. (Davis) Hayden. He is sur- vived by three daughters, Dorothy Robinson of Garland, Jeannie Hous- ton of Winthrop and Debbie Wisdom of Red Oak Texas; two of his seven sisters, Ellen Flanders of Ellsworth and Thelma Murphy of McNeils Mill, Prince Edward Island, Canada; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchil- dren, nieces and nephews. At his re- quest, there will be no visiting hours or funeral services. Spring graveside services will be at West Garland Cem- etery. Arrangements by Crosby Neal Funeral Home, Dexter.
