BERTHA C. FANJOY DEXTER - Bertha C. Fanjoy, 78, died Oct. 19., 1997, at a Dexter health-care facility. She was born Aug. 1, 1919, in Lowell, Mass., the daughter of Mark and Elsie (Hauver) Cross. She graduated from Lowell High School, Class of 1939, and then received an RN degree from Lowell General Hospital in 194O. She worked as a nurse for several years, moving to Maine with her husband, Robert Fanjoy Sr., in 1947. She was a member of the Dexter Sunshine Club, the Dexter United Methodist Church, the Nurses Guild, and vol- unteered at the Dexter Nursing Home for many years. She was pre- deceased by her husband in 1978. She is survived by a daughter, Dawn Bisson of Bangor; three sons and their wives, Robert and Gail Fanjoy Jr. of Millinocket, Richard and Car- liss Fanjoy of Dexter and Ronald and Melissa Fanjoy of Dexter; five grandchildren, four great-grandchil- dren. Memorial services will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Dexter United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jo Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Dexter United Methodist Church, care of t Constance Fortier, 377 Dover Road, Dexter O4930.
