Obituary	VIRGINIA M. HIBBARD DOVER-FOXCROFT - Virginia M. Hibbard, 81, wife of the late Emery R. Hibbard, died April 28, 1997 at the Hibbard Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 21 1916 in Charleston, the daughter of Fred P. and Hazel (Wha- len) Mitchell. Educated in Dexter schools, she graduated from Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed at East- ern Maine General Hospital, Bangor and at Mayo Memorial Hospital, Do- ver-Foxcroft. In 1955 she and her husband purchased and began to operate the Hibbard Nursing Home at its' original location on Essex Street, where she worked until her retirement for health reasons in 1969. She will be well remembered for the extraordinary care and com- fort she gave her patients. Mrs. Hib- bard was predeceased by her hus- band, Emery in 1994; a son, Gary M. Hibbard in 1982; a sister, Verna Mitchell in 1979; and a grand daug- ter, Suzanne Godwin in 1967. She is survived by a daughter, Sherryanne Godwin of Waterboro; a daughter- in-law, Jane Hibbard-Merrill and her husband, Charles Merrill of Do- ver-Foxcroft; a sister, Vivian Mason and her husband, Lester of New- port; her grandchildren, Tracy Kasprzak and her husband, James of Brewer, Melissa Graham and her husband, Corey of Dover-Foxcroft, Julie Yates and her husband, Colin of Portland, Oregon, Jennifer Court of Waterboro, Joanna Gile.and her husband, Stephen of Alfred; seven great-grandchildren, two nephews. Friends may call 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where funeral ser- vices will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, with the Rev. Roxie Moses officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Dover Cemetery.
