Obituary
Death of Mrs. Harry E. Hale. Our people were all greatly shocked and grieved to learn that Mrs. Harry E. Hale passed away about half-past three o'clock this morning. It will be remembered she was made a happy mother on the 5th inst. and she was recovering from her illness as well as could be expected, there, apparently being no danger. About half-past three this morning she complained of feeling faint. Mr. Hale went in all haste for Dr. Thatcher, who lives across the street, and although the doctor was there within ten minutes she had passed away, the cause of her death being a clot of blood on the heart. Fanny Judson Elder was born April 29, 1867, the daughter of Charles H. and Ellura Elder. She was educated in the schools of this village and was a graduate of the High school. She worked in the GAZETTE office for several years as compositor and proof reader and afterward in the Dexter Savings Bank. She was married to Harry E. Hale two years ago last July and their life had been a very happy one. Mrs. Hale was a woman of more than usual ability, of a lovable disposition and consequently had an unusually large number of friends. She was a consistent member of the Universalist church and much devoted to its interests. She also belonged to the Woman's Literary and the Book and Thimble Clubs. In her death the town has met with a loss that will long be felt. The sympathy of our people will go out to the afflicted family who are so sadly bereaved.
