DR. GILMAN H. CLOUGH Dr. Gilman Horace Clough, a retired physician, died May 20 at his home in Stamford, Conn., after a lingering illness at the age of 75. He had resided in Stamford for 28 years. Dr. Clough was born in Dexter on Sept. 21, 1876, the son of Dr. Gilman and Ellen Norton Clough. He practiced medicine in Dexter for 25 years. Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Bessie Chetley Clough. He received his degree in medicine from New York University in 1899. He served as a first lieutenant in the Medical Reserve Corps from May 28, 1917, to Aug. 19, 1918, a captain in the Medical Corps from Aug. 20, 1918 to Aug. 12, 1919, and was named a major in the Medical Reserve Corps on Nov. 7, 1917. He was on active service from Oct. 6, 1917, to Aug. 12, 1919, and was appointed a lieutenant colonel on Aug. 25, 1930. Dr. Clough was on foreign service from March 30, 1918 to July 18, 1919. He was a member of Oscar Cowan Post, No. 3, American Legion, and was a past president of the Officers' Reserve. The funeral service was held at Bouton and Reynolds Funeral Home. Interment was in Arlington National Cemetery. Members of the American Legion Post attended the service in a body.
