LOIS E. MCKENNEY DEXTER - Lois Evelyn McKenney, 71, died unexpectedly May 6, 1998, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born July 3, 1926 at Dex- ter, the daughter of Perl D. and Nellie A. (Thomas) Nelson. She at- tended Dexter schools. Lois enjoyed her extensive family and was happi- est when her family was at home. Over the years, she fed many peo- ple at her table, where her biscuits and doughnuts were often in de- mand. She enjoyed her life with her husband, Horace, on the dairy farm and was an avid animal lover. Lois also enjoyed bingo, keeping an eye on the cows, and her dog, Dumbo. In her earlier years, she participated in many local horseshows and had many ribbons and trophies to show for it. She is survived by her hus- bond of 54 years, Horace A. McKenney of Dexter; her seven fa- vorite children, Patsy and her hus- band, Ronald Dickinson, Evelyn and her husband George White Jr., Marcia and her husband, Lynn Her- rick, Perry and his wife, Barbara McKenney, with whom she shared a special relationship; Nellie and her husband, Joseph Kennedy, Nancy and her husband, Joseph Pichette, Darlene and her husband, Robert Stewart; two brothers, Spurgeon and his wife, Dorothy Nelson, Perry and his wife, Phyllis Nelson, Jr.; four sisters, Helen Higgins, Lela Nelson, Shirley Campbell, and Dorothy and her husband, Clifford Towle; her 17 favorite grandchildren; her favorite 17 great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by her many friends and bingo compan- ions. Friends may call from 1-4 and 6:30-9 p.m. Saturday, at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May, 10, 1998, at the First Baptist Church of Dexter, with the Rev. Patsy Dickinson and Rev. Roland Arno officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
