Obituary
George W. Holbrook George W. Holbrook, fomerly of Dexter, Maine, died at his residence in Holliston, Mass., Sunday, August 28, 1904, after a lingering illness. He was born in Blanchard, December 4, 1841, and for some time was employed in Dexter. He enlisted in Company G. Ninth Maine Infantry, and served in that regiment during 1864 - 5. September 23, he married Amanda E. Farmer of Dexter, who with one son survives him. He was the youngest of twelve children, Mrs. Sewell Bond being the only surviving member of the family. During the past thirty years he lived in Boston, and in Holliston, Mass. He was a member of Post 5, G. A. R. and of the Holliston Lodge of Knights of Honor. The funeral took place at his late residence, August 31st, Rev. Alex Dight of Natick and G. H. Humphrey of the local M. B. Church officiating. The Post and Lodge furnished bearers and there were several beautiful floral tributes. Interment was in Lake Grove Cemetary, Holliston.
