EVARD A, PATTERSON DOVER-FOXCROFT - Evard A. Patterson, 68, died peacefully, on Dec. 13,1999,surrounded by family and friends, after an extended illness. Because he trusted in Jesus Christ as his per- sonal Savior, Evard is now home with the Lord. He was born on Feb. 1, 1913, in St. A1bans, the son of Ralph B. and Ellen (Farnham) Patter- son. Evard was a graduate of N.H. Pay High School, Dexter, Class of 1949. He served in the Army Re- serves and worked at Foy & Scott Foundry. He enjoyed the outdoors and worked most of his life as a self-employed woodsman, and log truck operator. He will be remem- bered by friends in the log- ing industry. Evard was a follower of Jesus Christ. He attended the First Free Baptist Church, Dexter, where he was a member for 48 years, faithfully serving the Lord as a dea- con and Sunday school teacher. He enjoyed transporting many neigh- borhood children to Sunday school. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 49 years, Faye (Smith) Pat- terson. He was loved and respected by his four children, Charles Patter- son and his wife, Donna, of Ripley, William Patterson and his wife, Joyce of Dexter, Dwight Patterson of Dover-Foxcroft and Virginia (Potter, son) Arthers and her husband, Mark of Dover-Foxcroft. He will be re- membered as a loving grandfather, by Jeremy Patterson and his wife, Suzzane, of Beijing, China, Amanda Patterson of Ripley, Brent, Travis and Kerionn Patterson of Dexter, Ryon Patterson of Dover- Foxcroft, Erin and Stephen Arthers of Dover-Foxcroft; one sister, whom he loved dearly, Phyllis (Patterson) Moynihan and her husband, John, of Parkman; six nieces, one nephew, and many cousins. Also fondly re- membered is a favorite aunt, Evelyn Hollowell of Presque Isle. Evard had many special friends. He was pre- deceased by his parents; a grand- daughter, Rachel Ruth Patterson; a nephew, Michael Smith; and two very slose friends, Ralph Cochran and Roy Trice. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make contributions to Mainland China Missions, for the support of Evard's grandson, Jeremy and his wife, Suzzane, who are serving as missionaries in China.
