Obituary
RAYMOND "BILL" GOULETTE DEXTER - Raymond "Bill" Goulette, 78, died unexpectedly Aug. 21, 2005, at the Sterling Hotel, which he owned and operated with his wife, Rosalie, for the past 52 years. Bill was born April 5, 1927, the son of Anita (Gilbert) and Alphonse Goulette. He attended Dexter schools, until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 53. Bill was an avid Red Sox fan, listening to and watching all of the games. He was so pleased to have witnessed them become World Champions. He loved hunting, fishing, wood working, spending time at the cottage, and helping his family and friends in any way he was needed. He was always busy. We'll miss his maple syrup in the spring, his doughnuts in the winter, and all his wonderful desserts, including cakes for each birthday. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosalie (Clement) Goulette; two children, David and his wife, Ann, and Susan Vafiades and her husband, Nicholas, of Dexter; five grandchildren, Brandon Vafiades and his wife, Sarah, Danielle Vafiades and her fiance, Heath St. Louis, Aaron Vafiades, and Shawn Goulette, all of Dexter, and Joshua Goulette of Ledyard, Conn.; four step-grand-children, James McEwen, Brandy Grant and her husband, Keith, and their children, Gabrielle and Keith, Kelly Haines, and children, Ryan and Tyler, and Nick Vafiades Jr., and children, Nicole, Jacob, and Jordan; one special great-grandchild, Cameron Vafiades, who he looked forward to seeing and playing with everyday; two loving sisters, Rita Fahey and her husband, John, of Bangor, and Irene Michaud of Vancouver, Wash.; two brothers, Roland and his wife, Barbara, and Galen, all of Dexter; several nieces, nephews, and many special friends. He was predeceased by a brother, Gerard, in 1944. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Father James Robichaud presiding. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
