CLIFTON D. SKINNER GARLAND - Clifton D. Skinner, 73, died Aug. 14, 1999, at a Do- ver-Foxcroft hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1926, in Beverly, Mass., the son of Hollis and Myrtle (Hilton) Skinner. He served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during World War 11. He lived in Danvers, Mass. and worked as a welder for much of his life. In 1968 he moved with his family to Maine and had made his home in Garland. Locally, he was employed by Fay Scott in Dexter and owned and operated his own blacksmith shop, known as the Yankee Tinker Shop. He served his community as a volunteer fireman. He is survived by his wife, Irene (Perron) Skinner of Garland; two daughters, Kristine and her hus- ban , Lee Fortin of Peabody, Mass. and Patti Grillo of Garland; a brother, Wayne H. Skinner and his wife, Jeanette of Danvers, Mass., two sisters, Kathleen Southwick and her husband, Paul of Wenham, Mass. and Norma Citroni and her husband, Roland of Danvers, Mass.; four grandchildren, Michael Fortin and his wife, Robin of N. Andover, Mass., Melissa A. Grillo of Portland, Matthew A. Grillo of Garland and Andrew A. Fortin of Peabody, Mass.; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Don- ald Skinner and H. Gardner Skin- ner. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tues- day at Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. George Beaudet officiating Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Garland.
