JOHN D. MOSLEY NEWPORT -John Dudley Mosley, 80, died at his Camp Benson residence September 22 following a long illness. He was born in Ellsworth May 8, 1900, son of Eugene and Eleanor (Jones) Mosley. He attended schools at the Goodwill Farms in Hinkley. He married the former Marjor- ie Farr on Dec. 22, 1920. He was employed by the Fayscott-Landis Co. of Dexter for 17 years and later worked for the Edwards Manufactur- ing Co. of Pittsfield, from which he was the first emlpoy- ee to retire. He was a member of Merid- ian Splendor Lodge in New- port; Nokomis -Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star,Newport; and Calvary Baptist Church of Newport; the Newport Senior Citizens; and the Garland Grange. He was pre-deceased by one son, Eugene, who died in World War Two He is survived by his wife of Newport; one son, Philip of Dexter; four daughters, At- lene Creech of Caribou, Ruth Soucie of Augusta and Mar- lyn Brooks and Janet Wood- ward, both of Newport; two sisters, Willietta Morse of Newport and Naomi Clark of Oakland; two sister-in-law, 15 grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren, six nephews and four nieces. Funtral servies were held September 24 at the Crosby Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Jerry Scott of Milli- nocket officiating. The Rev. Mr. Scott was assisted by Mr. Mosley's son-in-law, the Rev. david Creech of Caribou.
