Obituary
Julia B. Palmer Mrs. Julia B. Palmer died very suddenly at the home of her son, Ernest L. Palmer, on upper Main street Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Palmer had for several days been ill with an attack of the grip, but it was thought that she was improving and she was in good spirits up to the time of her death, which was caused by heart failure as a result of the effects of the grip. Mrs. Palmer’s age was about 66 years. She was the daughter of Ebenezer and Abagail Clark and was born in the town of Bradford. She was the widow of the late Benjamin Palmer of Charleston and the greater part of her life was passed in that town. About six years ago she moved to Pittsfield, and about two years ago came to Dexter to make her home with her son. Mrs. Palmer was a woman respected by all and has made many friends in town since coming here to live. She was a member of the Free Baptist church of Pittsfield. She is survived by two sons, Ernest L. Palmer of Dexter, who is superintendent of schools for the towns of Dexter and Guilford, and Herbert L. Palmer of Pittsfield, a traveling salesman. Besides these, four brothers and two sisters are living: George Clark of Clinton, John B. Clark of Pittsfield, Charles Clark of Bradford, Frank Clark of Charleston, Mrs. Laura Gerrish of Brownville and Mrs. Fannie Palmer of Bradford. Prayers were said at the home Tuesday morning at nine o'clock, after which the remains were taken to Charleston for burial. At the latter place funeral services were held at 2 o'clock p. m., Rev. J. A. Wiggin of the Dexter Free Baptist church officiating.
