Obituary
Ann O. Cushman Mrs. Ann 0. Cushman, widow of the late Samuel Cushman, died at her home on Maple street Friday afternoon, the cause of her death being heart disease. Mrs. Cushman was born in Dexter and always lived here, being at the time of her death 78 years of age. She was the last surviving daughter of Dr. Gilman Burleigh, who was the leading physician and one of the prominent citizens of the town in its early years, her childhood home having been on the spot where the Abbott Memorial library is now located. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. F. E. Burns, Mrs. Sadie Kelley and Mrs. L. 0. Shepherd, and three grandchildren. Although unable by reason of ill health to mingle in the social life of the town for many years, yet she took a keen interest in the welfare of the town and in all the improvements that were made. She was also greatly interested in the affairs of the Universalist church of which both she and her parents were valued members. The funeral services were held at her late home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. S. G. Spear.
