Obituary
Lizzie M. Whitney The many friends of Miss Lizzie M. Whitney were pained to learn of her death, which took place at the home of her mother in the northern part of the town early Tuesday morning. Miss Whitney has for several years been a resident of Bangor, and at the time of her death was a member of the Columbia street Baptist church of that city and of the young people's society connected with the church. She was a young woman highly esteemed for her stirling Christian character, for her unselfish life, for her devotion to principal and duty, and for her ready activity and help in every good work. To all these and to a large number of relatives and friends in her former home town of Dexter, news of Miss Whitney’s death will be received with sincere grief, while the example of her pure and unselfish life will long remain with them a blessed inspiration and benediction. The funeral was held this forenoon at 10 o'clock from the home of Frank Nuite, the services being conducted by Rev. J. C. Hyde. A quartet composed of G. T. Bailey and wife, Mrs. L. 0. Demeritt and C. E. Jackson furnished music.
