Obituary
PHILLIPPE J. GILBERT A Requiem High Mass was conducted at St. Anne's Catholic Church Wednesday morning at 9 a. m. for Philippe J. Gilbert, 69, who died Sunday at his home on Spring street after a few days' illness. The Very Rev. C. J. Enright officiated and bearers were: Edmund Drouin, Benjamin Daigle, Jack Clark, Frederick Clukey, Arthur Carrroll and Mahile Goulette. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. He was born in St. George, Canada, Oct. 11, 1882, son of Jerome and Mary (Barrault) Gilbert. For 16 years Mr. Gilbert was in the grocery business in the store now owned by Roland Goulette. He was a member of St. John the Baptiste Society. Surviving besides his wife, Marie (Nolet) Gilbert, are four daughters, Mrs. Herbert Groleau, Mrs. Harry Boyington, Mrs. Raymond Poulin, all of Dexter, and Mrs. Philip Tracy of Dover-Foxcroft; two sons, Roland of Dexter and Philip Leo of Waltham, Mass. and eight grandchildren.
