Obituary	Peter J. Vincent Dies Suddenly Peter J. Vincent, 57, well-known Dexter business man died this morning (Thursday) at Plummer Memorial Hospital, where he was taken yesterday afternoon when found paralyzed and in an unconscious condition in his apartment by an insurance man making his regular call. Mr. Vincent died on his birthday. His wife, who has been in Boston on a trip, is scheduled to arrive in Dexter sometime today. Funeral arrangements await her arrival. The Red Cross assisted in notifying Mr. Vincent's daughter, Mrs. Ralph Badger, who is flying here from South Carolina. The Vincents' son, David, a student at Gould Academy, Bethel, arrived here last night. Mr. Vincent left the I. G. A. store at about 10 o'clock Tuesday evening to go to the upstairs apartment which the family occupies. Chief of Police Harold Knox reported a light was in the apartment when he made his rounds at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning. Around noon yesterday (Wednesday) the clerks in the store remarked about not having seen Peter around but decided he must be sleeping later than usual, and it was not until three that afternoon when the insurance agent entered the apartment and found Vincent on the kitchen floor. Apparently some time after 10 o'clock Tuesday night, while preparing for bed, Vincent became ill and was unable to call for assistance. Dr. Hans Shurman, who attended the ill man, ordered him removed to the local hospital and reported him in a serious condition. He was born in Rochester, N. H., March 27, 1895, son of Felix and Phoebe Vincent. Surviving are, his wife, Mrs. Edna G. Vincent; a daughter, Mrs. Vonetta Badger; a son, David L. Vincent; his first wife, Mrs. Velma (Bush) Vickery of Auburn; two nephews and one niece; father-in- law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Edward H. Vigue, Skowhegan. Mr. Vincent was in the grocery business for 29 years in Dexter, and recently sold his store on Church street. Before coming to Dexter, he operated a grocery store in Madison. Bearers wer: Lieut. Ralph Badger, USN., Camp Lejeune, N. C., Leon Vincent, Paul and Edgar Roderick, all of Skowhegan; Dennis Cleaves and Roger Gilbert, Dexter. Burial was in a Skowhegan cemetery.
