JESSIE WHALLAY SHILLIDAY The New York Times has reported the death of Jessie Whallay Shilliday, wife of the late William Shilliday, at Waterford, N. Y., on March 1. Services private at Watervliet with interment in Albany Rural Cemetery. Only survivors are two cousins, sisters, residing in Watervliet. Mrs. Shilliday came to Dexter with her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Hall, while he was an overseer at the Amos Abbott mill. Miss Whallay was graduated from Dexter High School of 1897 and after graduation studied art at the Massachusetts Normal Art School in Boston, the family living in Worcester after removing from Dexter. She taught normal art at Oneonta State Normal School, N. Y., and later in New York City before her marriage to W. J. Shilliday, after that living in Chelsea-on-Hudson, N. Y. After her teaching career, original productions were often shown in the state exhibitions.
