Obituary
G. P. Thompson G. P. Thompson died late Tuesday afternoon after a short illness as a result of a shock of paralysis suffered several days ago. The deceased was 71 years of age last July. For about 20 years Mr. Thompson was a valued employee of the Maine Central railroad, serving as fireman and engineer on the Dover-Dexter branch of the road in its early days. He had been resident of this town practically all his life and was a man highly respected by his acquaintances. Surviving Mr. Thompson are three brothers: Benjamin Thompson of Pittsfield, Augustus Thompson of Winthrop and Frank Thompson of Shirley. He was a member of Plymouth lodge, I. 0. 0. F., and also of Silver Lake encampment. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of Charles H. Hayden. Rev. William H. Gould, pastor of the Church of the Messiah, Portland, will officiate in the absence of Rev. Stanley 0. Spear, pastor of the first Universalist church. The Odd Fellows’ service will also be carried out.
