Obituary
Mrs. Abigail Sturtevant Mrs. Abigail Sturtevant, widow of the late Curtis Sturtevant, finished her earthly journey September 30, 1909, and quietly entered into rest. Her age was 96 years, 4 months and 4 days. She was born in Dexter on the 26th day of May in 1813. In 1834 she married Curtis Sturtevant with whom she lived 66 years. Her father, Edward Jumper, was one of the early settlers of Dexter, coming from Minot, in the west part of the State in 1811 he purchased a wild lot and made a home for his family. The oldest in a family of ten children, Mrs. Sturtevant was the last to be called Home. Of her own eight children one daughter and two sons survive her. She also leaves ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A quiet, modest, unassuming woman, yet she was of strong character and influenced for good all with whom she came in contact during her long and useful life. The funeral occurred Sunday and was attended by her pastor, Rev. S. G. Spear.
