ORMAN P. GERRY DEXTER - Orman P. Gerry, 90, died unexpectedly Jan. 8, 1998, at his Dexter home. He was born in Dover-Foxcroft, March 23, 1907, the son of Gerald A. and Mabel (Jud- kins) Gerry. He was educated in Do- ver-Foxcroft schools. Orman was a master mechanic, owning and oper- ating his own garage for many years, retiring as service manager for Laburn Chevrolet. On numerous occasions Orman taught at General Motors schools, and was called upon as a trouble shooter for other General Motors garages many times. Orman was an active mem- ber of the United Methodist Church in Dexter and a member of the Unit- ed Methodist Men. He was a charter member of the Meals for Me Pro- gram in Dexter, and was the oldest male citizen of Dexter, holding the Boston Post Gold Headed Cone. He was very active in the Masons; a member and past master of Penob- scot Masonic Lodge No. 39 of Dex- ter; a member and past high priest of St. Johns Chapter No. 25 of Dex- ter; a member of DeMolay Corn- mandry Knights Templar of Skowhe- gan, and a member of the Royal and Select Masters Council 318 of Dover- Foxcroft. Orman was a private pilot and along with his brother, they were instrumental in getting the Civil Air Patrol in Dexter, and he flew on many missions for the CAP. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Evelyn L. Gerry; his daughter, Jean Constanzo, and his son, Colby Gerry. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Julia Gerry of New Albany, Ind.; his sis- ter, Gladys Starbird of North Dex- ter; seven grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, and three great- great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be missed by his constant compan- ion, his dog, Jenni. Friends and fam- ily may call Thursday from 2-3 and 6- 8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 24 High St., Newport. Public Mason- ic Services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funer- al home by the officers and mern- bers of Penobscot Masonic Lodge No. 39. Funeral services will be con- ducted 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at the Brown Funeral Home, New- port, with the Rev. Jo Bennett offici- ating. Spring burial will be in the family lot at Mt.
