Obituary
WILLIS S. NICHOLS Funeral services for Willis S. Nichols, 76, who died Thursday in a Bangor hospital after a long period of failing health, were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph M. Clare of the Methodist Church officiated, and there was a Masonic service. Bearers were: Ernest, Quentin and Kenneth Robinson of Dexter, and Ernest Sevey of Ripley. Interment will take place at Mt. Pleasant cemetery this spring. He was born in Dexter, May 27, 1875, son of Thomas B. and Augusta (Silver) Nichols. Except for a few years in Dover-Foxcroft when very young, the greater part of his life was spent in this town. He was a member of the Dexter Methodist Church, Penobscot Lodge No. 39, A. F. and A. M. and Dexter Grange. Surviving are his wife, Jennie (Crowell) Nichols; three daughters, Mrs. Everett Robinson, Corinna, Mrs. Irvin Wentworth,, St. Albans, and Mrs. Ralph McKusick, Dexter; a sister, Mrs. Leslie Brown, Milton, N. H., 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
