Obituary
John B. Arnold The following announcement of the death of John Arnold taken from the "North East," a magazine publication, will be of interest to our readers. The Dexter parish mourns the death of one of its oldest and most faithful communicants. John Bosworth Arnold died at Richmond, Maine on Sunday, Oct. 12, 1913. He was buried on Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Dexter, the burial service having been read at Richmond by Rev. Cuthbert Fowler of the Cathedral. Mr. Arnold was born in 1822 at Monmouth, Maine. He was a teacher and a member of the school board at Dexter for several years as a young man. Later he took up farming. He and his wife were among the first fruits of the missionary labors of the late Rev, C. T. Ogden at Dexter, and from the start of the parish there, Mr. Arnold was a warden and a great power in parochial activities. He was several times a delegate to diocesan conventions in years gone by. Mrs. Arnold died in 1896. There survive Mr. Arnold two children, George, who lives in Dexter, and Miss Fanny, who lived with her father at Richmond, till his death. Mr. Arnold was a man of sterling qualities, a generous and kindly dis- position and unswerving and conspicuous loyalty to the church.
