Obituary
Ethel Crane Stubbs The many friends of Ethel Crane Stubbs, wife of Allison Stubbs, were shocked and saddened to learn of her very sudden death on Friday afternoon at her home at Jenning's corner. Mrs. Stubbs was taken suddenly ill soon after dinner Friday and died almost immediately from heart failure. Mrs. Stubbs was formerly Miss Ethel Crane. For some years she was employed as clerk in the dry goods' store of E. G. Ayer in this village, and was a young woman highly esteemed and beloved by her scores of friends in this village and elsewhere. Some over a year ago she was united in marriage to Allison Stubbs, and about four weeks ago a little son was born. Friday was the first time she had been able to sit at the table for dinner. Her death is more sad owing to the fact that Mr. Stubbs was out of town, having gone to Orrington to visit his aged mother, who is in poor health. He was summoned home Friday afternoon and reached here on the evening train. Mrs. Stubbs was 30 years of age, and was a graduate of the Dexter High school. Besides husband and little son, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Crane.
