Obituary	EDITH V. LEIGHTON Funeral services for Edith Valentine Leighton, 55, who died Friday in a Boston hospital after several years of failing health, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Crosby Funeral Home in this town. The Rev. A. Allan Brough, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiated. The remains were placed in the tomb and burial will be in the family lot at Mt. Pleasant cemetery this spring. She was born in Guilford, Feb. 14, 1896, the daughter of Mrs. Rhoda Adams Leighton and the late James Leighton. She attended Garland and Dexter schools but went to Massachusetts while in her teens and has since made her home there. For 30 years she was an outstanding dressmaker in Boston. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Rhoda Leighton now seriously ill and staying in Hartland with her sister, Mrs. Nora Ham; two sisters, Mrs. Rowena Odlum, Quincy, Mass., Mrs. Elvira Kempton, San Francisco, Cal.; two brothers, Joseph Earl Leighton, Providence, R. I., now in Guam, and Clifford F. Leighton, Dexter, several nieces and nephews. Bearers were: Norman Bell of Dover-Foxcroft; Harold Odlum of Quincy, Mass.; Francis Thomas, Dexter; and Westley Ham, Hartland.
