CLARENCE 'SKID' SKILLINGS EXETER - Clarence H. "Skid" Skillings, 74, died unexpectedly Aug.22, 1995, at his Exeter home. He was born in Dexter, May 17, 1921, the son of Clifton and Ethel (Lord) Skillings. He was educated in schools of Ripley an attended N.H. Faye High School in Dexter. He worked in the woods for several years, and was also employed by Bud Elms in Dexter for a few years. He retired in 1983 from the town of Dexter after working for the High- way Department for 14 years. Clar- ence was an avid outdoorsman, en- joying hunting, fishing, trapping and snowmobiling. He was a life mem- ber of the N.R.A. and a life member of the Maine Trappers Association. He was a former member of the Se- basticook Valley Snowmobile Club of Newport, the Cross Country Cruises Snowmobile Club of Exeter and the Hungry Hollow Snowmobile Club of Levant. He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Marion Aus- tin of Exeter and her family, Mar- lene and Milton Thompson of New- port, Tanya and David Richardson of Plymouth, Sonya Underhill of New- port and Samantha Richardson of Plymouth; one uncle and several cousins. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Brown Funeral Home, 24 High St., Newport, where funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. William Stone officiating. Burial will be in the family lot, Pine Grove Ceme. tery, Hartland.
