Verna M. Wilson FARMINGTON -Verna M. Wilson, 82, of Farmington, for- merly of Dover-Foxcroft, and Dexter, died after a long illness on Wednesday, Dec. 14,1994 at Sandy River Nursing Care Cen- ter, Farmington,where she had resided for the past four years. She was born in Brownville Jct., Oct. 21, 1912, the daughter of Lewis C. and Josie (Johnson) Stubbs. She was educated in the schools of Brownville Jct. and was a graduate of Gorham Nor- mal School in 1931 with an ele- mentary teaching degree. She married Charles H. Wilson Aug. 30, 1946 in Dexter. She taught in Williamsburg, Green- ville and Dexter for many years and operated a nursery school in Dexter for several years, retiring from the Dexter schools in 1972. Mrs. Wilson was a past mem- ber of the Maine Teachers Associ- ation, the Maine Retired Teach- ers Association, Dover-Foxcroft United Methodist Church, Women's Society of Christian Ser- vices of that church. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and summers at Sebec Lake. She is survived by her hus- band, Charles of Farmington; three sons, C. Eric Wilson and his wife, Edie of Abington, Mass., C. Wayne Wilson and his wife, Peg of Buffalo Creek, Colo., Joseph V. Wilson and his wife, Linda of Mt. Sidney, Va.; three daughters, Connie L. Calkin and her hus- band, Bill of Golden, Colo., Gayle P. Lucas and her husband, John of Butler, Pa., Karen L. Seams and her husband, Colby of Anson; four sisters, Dorothy Dearborn of Windham, Marjorie Smith of Greenville, Carol Patterson and Jean Hanson, both of Dover-Fox- croft; 18 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Kathleen Perkins and Leone Dearborn; two grandchil- dren, Chuckie Wilson aiid Kristen Seams. A memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.
